About Rachel

American Soprano Rachel Blaustein was recently named a Grand Finalist in the 2022 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. After workshopping The Hours at The Metropolitan Opera, Rachel began the 2022/23 season with a return to Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, singing Pamina in their digital version of The Magic Flute. She debuts with Maryland Lyric Opera as Nannetta (Falstaff) and Annapolis Opera as Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), and she appears in concert with Opera EdwardsvilleThe New Choral Society, and The Mid-Atlantic Symphony. Making her debut with Odyssey Opera, she reprises the role of Autonoe (The Lord of Cries), which she premiered with Santa Fe Opera in 2021, and goes on to make the commercial recording of the work with Boston Modern Orchestra Project. After originating the role of Micól Finzi-Contini in New York City Opera's world premiere of The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, she records the piece with NYCO this winter.
